it was one great trip that I had, and it was managed -- as far as established Indian standards go-- extremely professionally. And Dooars, I found is one great place that can any day give places like Ranthyambhore or Sariska a run for their money. Sadly, lack of infrastructure troubled me. You don't get into a jungle in a trail of 8 jeeps and yet hope to see wildlife. Still, I managed a leopard at Gorumara and that I hear is great luck.
But, of course, elephants were aplenty and so were rhinos. But then, it's painful to see a rhino coming to drink water and getting shit scared at 25 people standing on the other side and shouting 'Oi dyak, gondar!!!' We humans can make anybody afraid. Even the gondar. I realised that at Hollong.
Yet the only saving grace, was naturebeyond's organising. Getting to stay at places like Silver Ridge at Lataguri or at Tarada's Gracilips at Rajabhatkhawa ..... believe me, it's like one big load off your head at one go. North Bengal's Doors, I realised, would be much better managed if left to understanding and caring private entrpreneurs with the government agencies working in tandem but keeping at the fringes. Sadly, that's not going to happen it seems, not very soon at least.
A special thanks to Tara-da, I believe anybody entering the Doors should first meet him. Especially somebody like me, who knew neither head nor tail of the place. Such a knowledgable man, he's like that mythical figure of the junglebabu that we find in Bhibhutibhusan's novels.
And of course a huge thanks to you for choosing the Orange Country Retreat in Mirik. You hit the nail at the right place.

Enjoyed the trip. The drawback was limited hotel choice at Darjeeling and food plan was also limited.

The service naturebeyond provided was very professional and excellent. Even during the preparation of our tour they were honest and correct. They keep contact during the tour to check everything is ok.

Naturebeyond provided a first rate experience in Darjeeling for our group of 18 school children and 4 adults. The guides we well informed and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them or for the organizers to ensure that we had a memorable holiday.

When I was booking through email & telephone conversation, I was in a bit of dark about service, but the entire package stay and logistic is excellent...... In future if I make any tour in Sikkim & North Bengal I will go for naturebeyond.

naturebeyond is doing an excellent job. Its time it should think of extending its services to other regions as well. A wonderful experience and definitely worth a second try. Who knows the whole thing might just become a habit.

Travel and accommodation arrangement was very good. You can provide a list of sight seeing place on arrival. Pleasant , memorable and mesmerising was eastern Himalayas hats off to naturebeyond for making it happen.

We had 3 enjoyable days from 3-5 march inclusive owing to the excellent service provided by our guide and his driver who collected us from Bagdogra airport and took us back there.
We remain full appraise for the efficient and friendly services of these two gentlemen.

P.S . It would be useful if you could find a better way to receive payments. When I sent $ 300 Australian Dollars, the fees came to $ 28, or 10%. If you accepted credit card payment, it would be ideal.

Need better brakes on mountain bikes. Not appropriate for a 85 kg man. Guide was good and helpful. Gopal was very nice.

Genuine cooperation no over promises made, keeps things in order e.g. permits, Itinerary etc. Can do better at introductory briefing on this. Value for money trip for most of the outing. naturebeyond may mail Corporate all across India for Clientele. They may not know enough about such trips. Good Job indeed.

Let me first thank you for the absolutely fabulous and fantastic itinerary you planned for us. It was an amazing experience for us. Since it was the first trip for us to the Dooars, hence a very pleasant experience.
Next, we hope to visit Jaldapara & Buxa. Hope you will be kind enough to book the best places for us. And as for the car, we would like Dipen Daju as our driver on all our subsequent visits. He has been such a cordial and nice person.

naturebeyond enabled us to trek safely with every need catered for. Through naturebeyond we were able to access another rich side of Indian life. Lunch at Kalipokhri was a joy, everyone so friendly. Sunrise at Tonglu memorable for the geese, ducks and goats as for the mountains. The team was so committed, they made the whole experience memorable and immensely enjoyable.
