Kaku in Bengali stands for Uncle and bari
means home. The popular `uncle` from Lataguri is the man behind
this resort and hence the name. The resort is located off
the beaten track close to the Murti river near Gorumara forests
in a place called Dhupjhora. Kakurbari was the first to popularise
this part of Gorumara as a resort destination. Today several
small and medium sized resorts have come up in the vicinity.
The more famous ones include the Gorumara Elephant camp of
WBFDC and the Riverwood forest retreats.
The resort consists of 4 double bedded cottages and two 6
bedded rooms. Spread over a large area the adjacent tea gardens
and the forests provide beautiful landscape for the resort.
