16 students of `Dacca University` were injured and one Bangladeshi Citizen was killed in a bus accident in Sukna, 15 km. from Siliguri on June 19.

Nargish Akhtar (53) the departed, was the mother of one student Ms. Jihan Sajid. The victim of the accident included the driver and three female students who were admitted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.

The students were at the end of their 13day tour of India. They were returning from Darjeeling to the Indo-Bangladesh border Changrabandha. In the troupe there were 48 students and in this last bus there were 24 students.

According to information the dead was the only guardian who accompanied the students. The group had traveled to Kolkata, Jaipur and Delhi before coming here. One of the students Mr. Sayed Raihan explained that the bus was running comfortably in the hill but the problem occurred as the driver accelerated as the bus touched the plain. Due to the high speed the driver was unable to control the vehicle. The bus went off the road and hit one tree.

Mr.Raihan and the accompanying guide Mr. Mohammad Ronak agreed that both the driver and the contractor were engaged in a conversation when the mishap took place. The injured students were found panic-stricken and trying hard to contact their guardians with the help of local police.
