Hill beauty shines her light on Siliguri Darjeeling Damsel says' no skin on screen please : July 12, 2004
Miss Jyoti Brahmin, who became the Miss India Earth
this year, received felicitation from local Bhanubhakta Samity in
Gurungnagar in Siliguri.
This is the first time she visited the
hills after winning the crown. She was given a warm welcome by the
school children and local people.Jyoti, in a polka-dot sari was
looking glamorous and found her admirers waiting for hours in the
rain to watch her. Jyoti posed with the teenyboppers for photograph
and also thanked her brothers and sisters for helping her to achieve
the place where she is now. In her speech Jyoti thanked her family
members especially her grand parents who played a great role in
her achievement.
This 22-years old beauty queen, studied in Loreto Convent, Darjeeling and Lincolns School, Siliguri besides St. Josephs College in Darjeeling.
When asked about the offers, which have come from Bollywood, she
said that she is looking for some intelligent roles. She wants to
enter into Bollywood with films that have good scripts.
Jyoti declared that she is currently preparing for the Miss Earth
Contest to be held in Manila in October. After the contest she will
decide her future.
