The tourists, who want to experience the lash green
forests of Dooars in an unconventional
way, should visit Dooars in the rainy seasons. The local tour operators
are expecting that the initiative of showcasing the beauty of Dooars
in the monsoon will be a success.
Mr. Priyanko Chakraborty of the Eco-Development
Committee of the Forest Department of Lataguri said that they have
got some foreign tourists form Columbia and England last year. He
explained that the tourists were not keen on visiting the famous
sights. Their intention was to relax and feel the greenery and experience
the environment. The authority arranged their tour program, as they
wanted. In addition he said that they are trying to concentrate
on the neighboring people as they are allowed to enter into the
forest any time. As the hills are generally closed in the monsoon
because of landslide and bad weather, people will like to travel
the Dooars in this period.
The General Manager of WBFDC (north), Mr. R.R.P. Singh said that
they are offering a scheme of one night free stay with every two
nights paid stay.
