The adventure and jungle lovers visiting
Buxa will find it easier to access the forests in the coming
season. The West Bengal Forest Development Corporation has
taken over two rundown lodges, named Leo and Tiger, in Rajabhatkhawa
and a training centre in the tiger reserve from the forest
department.
The lodges have been renovated by the Forest
Development Corporation. The corporation expects to start
receiving tourists within two months. The booking for the
lodges attached to the training centre has been started and
the tourists who want to book the rooms can try their luck.
The corporations will begin accommodating the tourist in the
lodges from the next month.
The popularity of the Buxa Tiger Reserve
took a downturn in the recent past due to lack of tourist
accommodation in the area. With the solution now within sight,
Buxa might attract much larger number of tourists in the coming
days. There are a number of beautiful places around Buxa like
Raimatang, Buxa Hill, Jainti, Bhutan Ghat, Rydak, and Rajabhatkhawa.
Sudhir Dhar, the manager of Alipurduar Buxa Logging Division
said, “We are sure that we will receive large number
of tourists once our on line booking facility is launched.”
