New home for tigers & birds

Cooch Behar, Dec. 2: The state forest minister will inaugurate a tiger reserve centre and bird park at the Rasik-bill Tourist Complex in Tufangunj on December 26. A brainchild of Mr. Chandi Pal, the Rasik-bill complex will have a Royal Bengal Tiger and two leopards at the tiger reserve centre.

Pal said that the park will house different species of birds available in the region, which will be of immense help for bird watchers and students to learn about the avian friends. The Rasik-bill is an attractive tourist destination – and the road-bridge being built will make it easier to get there.

A museum is also being built where the visitors will find objects of local handicrafts and artifacts. Apart from these, many other things will be added for entertainment to the visitors. A hospital is also under construction at the vicinity of Rasik-bill.
