KURSEONG: In April The Netaji Museum and
Centre for Study of Himalayan language, society and culture
is expected to be fully functional.
SDO of Kurseong B. Dasgupta told, `The building
where Netaji had stayed during freedom movement, in which
the museum and language centre will be housed is almost complete.`
The museum can be open around the April
as renovation work on the old structure is nearing completion.
The number of visitors who has already come here to visit
shows that this museum will be an asset for the hill people.
Visitors will be able to see various facets of The INA in
the Giddhapara museum which has four chambers for this purpose.
People will get more information about the freedom struggle.
Mr. Dasgupta also said that, `The researchers who come here
to study Bose’s life will be able to see a film which
will help them in their study.` The Indian Museum Authority
will build and maintain the museum. The fund for this renovation
has been released from the Kurseong MLA fund.
