The Lalit Kala Academy of New Delhi has organized an art festival in Gangtok in collaboration with the state cultural affair and heritage department. 50 artistes have gathered there in Gangtok for the festival. Among the artistes 27 are painters and the rest are sculptors. The festival is going on at the Circuit House.

The festival began yesterday and it will continue till March 22nd. It is the first time that Sikkim organized the national art festival. Five local talents are also participating in the meet, which marks the golden jubilee year of the Akademi. According to one of the artistes the serene beauty and the picturesque of Sikkim attracts us to create more. Apart from workshops, the participants will also work on new creations at the festival, which will be exhibited later.
