A large number of local artists, sculptors and member of the public were present at the inauguration of the exhibition. G. M. Gurung, cultural affairs and heritage minister was the chief guest. In his speech Mr. Gurung thanked Lalit kala Academy for gifting such artworks and promised to better infrastructure in the state if such national art festival was organized again. Sikkim Academy is busy for a space big enough to house all the creation. `We have a plan and now we are looking to rent a place where we could hang the paintings. Sahitya academy has some spaces but it will be impossible to keep all the paintings,` said Mr. G. S. Lama, the President of Sikkim Academy. The paintings require attention and have to be kept away from moisture.
