Assam and Darjeeling tea tourism could receive a boost with ITC hotel limited showing a keen interest in promoting welcome heritage hotels in tea garden. There are four categories of hotels in ITC Hotel Group Limited.

The Super Deluxe hotels of the group carry the ITC prefix and the five star category hotels carry the brand name Welcome Hotels. These two types of hotels are further supported by two other categories hotel-Welcome Heritage and Fortune. These two types of hotels are aimed to wooing budget travelers. According to Shona Adhikari, media consultant, ITC Hotels Limited, the ground work has already been finished and they are waiting for the heritage structure and these will be places under the Welcome Heritage segment.
