The forest Department is ready to trap
the tourism potentials of Odlabari and its surroundings. While
addressing the audience the forest development minister Mr.
Jogesh Barman said, `The forest department has received Rs.
1 crore for developing the Gojaldoba Tista barrage area and
some other areas around Odlabari to form a tourist circuit.`
The Gojaldoba Tista barrage is situated closed to the town.
The projects will be able to be fulfilled with help of local
residents.
The intention of the department is to promote
this place as a tourist spot. Earlier forest department focused
on tea tourism in the district. `We will construct eco-tourism
resort and watch tower in Gajaldoba,` said the minister. This
place is growing as a bird watching point. There are some
other points like Apalchand forest can also be part of the
circuit. The visitors will enjoy the place more because it
could offer the tourists some unique place like coal mines
in Bagrakot and dolomite on Noam hills. It can be a popular
tourist place once the projects come to end.
