Kingfisher Airlines touch downs to Bagdogra

Siliguri, Nov 15: Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya`s Kingfisher Airlines is gearing up to start flights from the Bagdogra Airport. From tomorrow the airline will start daily connecting flights between Bagdogra and Bangalore landing in Guwahati, Kolkata and Hyderabad on the route - and without break journeys.

Now, people in the region, will be able to travel to Bangalore and Hyderabad in the same plane without the annoying ritual of break journeys. According to the chairman and managing director of the company, Mallya, it is part of an ambitious plant to expand the network of destinations and to revolutionise the service of business and leisure travel in this region.

Passengers will be able to board the Airline`s seventh brand new Airbus A320, from Bagdogra at 3.15 pm and reach Hyderabad at 8.40 pm and Bangalore at 10.20 pm. However, there is a slight snag because passengers destined to Kolkata on the Kingfisher will have to go via Guwahati, which is not the case with other airlines.
The fare for the Bagdogra-Guwahati has two ranges, the lower one costs Rs 2,999 and the higher one is priced at Rs 3,299.

With the availability of Kingfisher Airlines, Bagdogra now has four airlines operating for the North Bengal region including Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Air Deccan.
