Rahul romancing the Kanchenjunga

Siliguri, Oct. 10: Rahul Bose was in Murti, Jalpaiguri, acting his role in Mr. & Mrs. Iyer last time. And this time he returns as the character Rahul, in Arunanon, a Bengali film shot in the snow-clad mountains of Kanchenjunga in Pelling.

This is Rahul’s second Bengali film, which is directed by debut-director Anirudha Roy Choudhary. It will be shot between October 13 and 20 in Pelling and the main characters are played by Rituparna Sengupta, Raima Sen and Tota Roy Choudhary, apart from Rahul.

Pelling was recently shot as Kashmir by veteran Assamese filmmaker Jhanu Barua in his movie Titli Udi. The movie was shot entirely in West Sikkim earlier this year and is bound for release shortly.

The director insists that the Mt. Kanchenjunga is not just another exotic locale in his movie, but it plays a character itself. Anirudha explains that nature like humans have distinct characters – and it influences the characters in his movie with its mystic charm. Under the suns ray as she changes her hues the other characters resonate with her.
The mood of the magnificent Kanchenjunga will be captured by Bollywood’s ace cinematographer, Sunil Patel who recently shot Salam Namaste and Hum Tum.
