Renovation in heritage temple

Cooch Behar, Oct. 21: Renovation work on Madan Mohan Temple, a heritage site, is going on and will be completed before Rashmela, which begins on November 15.

The District Magistrate of Cooch Behar said that the Kali Temple in Varanasi and Krishna Temple in Vrindaban, which are also temples under the Cooch Behar Debottar Trust Board, would be renovated. A team of officials had already left for Varanasi and Vrindaban to assess the status of the two temples.

The renovation of the Madan Mohan Temple built in 1889 began three months ago.

The public works department of Cooch Behar has been entrusted with the renovation work of the temple in Cooch Behar. The Kathamia Temple, which shares the same premises with the Madan Mohan Temple, is also being repaired.
