Alipurduar,
Sept. 29: Visitors can get a taste of the `wild nightlife`
in Dooars this Puja.
The eco-tourism centre in Khairbari is gaining
popularity in the sub-division. Taking this into account,
the forest officials have decided to set up jungle-tents for
tourists. Visitors can go for a safari through the leopard
centre and take a coracle ride down the Buri Torsha before
withdrawing to their tents.
Three jungle tents will be set up on the
banks of the Buri Torsha - a tributary of the Torsha - flowing
through the tourism centre. It will be equipped with all modern
amenities. Double-bed tents will be available at Rs 500 per
night.
The coracle rides across the Buri Torsha
are expected to be a huge attraction. Coracles, which are
very popular in South India, are round-shaped, bamboo-paddled
boats; fun to go for rides across the river.
