ADB support

Appreciating the ongoing development activities in Sikkim, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has assured its support to the state government.
Mr Robert Destany, director general of ADB, met chief minister Mr Pawan Kumar Chamling today and assured him of extending support to the state’s infrastructure development. He appreciated the activities and the policies of the state government. Mr Ajay Sagar, head of public sector and finance, ADB and other officials, including Mr Hirani Mukhopadhaya, were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the chief minister thanked Mr Destany for visiting the state and discussed with him common issues relating to different sectors, such as tourism, industry, power, agriculture and horticulture.
Mr Chamling told the ADB officials that Sikkim is a small and peaceful state with lots of potential in natural resources and also expressed his interest to explore it for the benefit of the common people.
