Appreciating the ongoing development activities
in Sikkim, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has assured its
support to the state government.
Mr Robert Destany, director general of ADB, met chief minister
Mr Pawan Kumar Chamling today and assured him of extending
support to the state’s infrastructure development. He
appreciated the activities and the policies of the state government.
Mr Ajay Sagar, head of public sector and finance, ADB and
other officials, including Mr Hirani Mukhopadhaya, were also
present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the chief minister thanked Mr Destany
for visiting the state and discussed with him common issues
relating to different sectors, such as tourism, industry,
power, agriculture and horticulture.
Mr Chamling told the ADB officials that Sikkim is a small
and peaceful state with lots of potential in natural resources
and also expressed his interest to explore it for the benefit
of the common people.
