Tea GardenOne of the oldest beverage producing groups has set its sight on ruling the market with its quality tea production and plantation

McLeod Russel India Limited need no introduction in the world of tea. One of the pioneer producers of Assam tea and the largest corporate in the Indian tea industry, McLeod Russel is all set to consolidate a smart way in bulk tea business. The bulk tea producing beverage group owns a large chunk of tea plantation sites in the state of Assam. It has stepped up its campaign to promote tea as a health beverage and is looking at ways to educate the young crowd focusing on the fact that drinking tea is a healthy habit and reduces the chance of heart diseases.
Aditya Khaitan, managing director, McLeod Russel India Limited explained that the health concept of tea is steadily catching up since the younger lots have become more health-conscious. The health aspect is playing a major role in influencing the young mind. The tea plantation company has been successful to create global standards in terms of high quality and size and is open to more acquisitions in future. It has been associated with rejuvenation of age-old tea bushes since the early ‘90s.
Being one of the world’s largest exporters of bulk tea, the beverage group intends to set its sights more on the plantation sector. Keeping in mind the increased consumption of tea and the increasing GDP, the group had taken up a challenging role to increase its bulk tea production two years ago.
