Stoppage for train at Rajabhatkhawa demanded

Members of Revolutionary Youth Front (RYF) submitted a memorandum to the general manager of Northeast Frontier Railway at Alipuduar today, demanding reintroduction of stoppage for Inter City Express at Rajabhatkhawa.
RYF leaders Mr Ramkumar Lama and Mr Gouranga Bhattacharya said that earlier there was a stoppage for the train at Rajabhatkhawa but after the beginning of the gauge conversion work along this route, the stoppage was withdrawn. They mentioned that there were no other suitable communication facilities for the students, businessmen and others.
The tourism sector is also suffering due to the non-stoppage of the train at Rajabhatkhawa, they said.
Mr Lama said that the Lok Sabha member from Alipurduar, Mr Joachim Baxla, had urged the Union railway minister several times to reintroduce the stoppage, but to no avail. “After receiving the memorandum, the NF Railway general manager has assured us of looking into the matter,” Mr Lama, said.
