Leopard cub found dead at tea estate

A one-year-old leopard cub was found dead at the Marapur Tea Estate in Naxalbari police station area this morning.
The lifeless body of the two-and-a-half-feet long cub was spotted by the plantation workers. The plantation authorities later informed the forest officials, who took away the carcass. According to forest department officials, the leopard cub had injury marks on the shoulder, which was probably caused by infighting leading to its death. A postmortem was conducted at the Sukna Animal Rescue Centre before cremating the carcass inside the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary.
