project at Fuleswari in Siliguri was going on in full swing
and was expected to be complete soon.
Giving details of the project, he said that the primary works

water reservoir, internal and approach roads, electrification,
drainage and sewerage and administrative building including
an export facilitation centre had already started and were
likely to be completed. “Enthused by the project several
private industries have already acquired lands in the complex
and started construction for setting up manufacturing units
there,” he said.
Dwelling upon the positive impact of the project on local
economy the SJDA official said that the successful implementation
of the project would definitely rejuvenate the local economy.
“The project would benefit the local people as it would
enhance employment and market opportunities substantially,”
he said.
“The Food Park would be spread over 30 acres of land
and would include facilities like cold storage, warehousing,
banking and other related services. It would also be an integrated
venue for processing and packaging all types of food items,”
