Congress led North Dinajpur Zilla Parishad
has taken an initiative to open an Eco-park in Raiganj which
was constructed next to the Kulick bird sanctuary in Raignaj
for tourists about three years ago and its inauguration is
still neglected for which the district administration is losing
a good amount of revenue and the park has become a hub for
anti socials.

of Kulick bird sanctuary North Dinajpur district administration
constructed this park at Manipara in Raignaj, very close to
Kulick bird sanctuary after spending nearly Rs 1 crore from
the Border Area Development Programme , NREGS, MP Lad, 10
th finance, Uttar Banga Unnayan Parshad , RSVY funds.
North Dinajpur district administration has allegedly failed
to inaugurate this park because there was a dispute between
the former CPI(M) led North Dinajpur zillaparishad and Congress
led Raiganj panchayat samity because both of them demanded
the authority of revenue collection for the park.
When asked the Sabhadhipati of Congress led North Dinajpur
Zillaparishad Mr Moqtar Ali Sardar said: "This Eco-park
was a long standing demand of the tourists as well as the
residents of Raiganj.
With an objective to open this park we recently held a meeting
asking the authorities of Raiganj panchyat samity who had
assured us that they would providing complete cooperation
to inaugurate this park . After the formation of the permanent
body of our new Zillaprishad, we will hold another meeting
with all the officials of the district administration, officials
of Raiganj panchayat samity and the officials of local gram
panchayat where the date of inauguration of Eco- park will
be fixed ,added Mr Sardar.
