Phaskowa - Alipurduar

Phaskowa Tea GardenPhaskowa Tea estate on the fringe of Buxa Tiger Reserve along the Rydak River bordering Bhutan is an attractive location for tea tourism. A 120 years old garden was started by the British Duncan Brothers way back in 1897 and in 1967 it was transferred to Chamaria family who is the present owner of this fabulous garden. With 660 acres of plantation area the garden produces high quality tea both CTC and Orthodox leaves. The charming and peaceful location of the garden with easy access to Buxa Tiger Reserve and Coochbehar make this an important refuge for the nature lovers. The bungalow built in the colonial era on top of a hillock overlooking the river, forests and the hills beyond gives a comfortable abode after a busy day out.

The bungalow has 2 Suites the Tropicana and The Sunset Room with teak bed, French lace bedspread, beautiful scatter cushions. The floor-to-roof window gives an awakening view of the Himalayas over the sprawling green lawns. Live in style as a true planter with a hot cup of tea as you listen to the beats of tribal drums while the dancers steps in with the ethnic rhythm.

Phaskowa GardenThe elaborated cuisine provides a verity of tastes from Indian to Continental, Chinese and Mughlai and most of the vegetables are grown in the gardens own premises.

Phaskowa Garden provides various scopes for explorations and excursions with lots of hikes and day out. A wild safari into the Buxa Tiger Reserve – the only Tiger Reserve in North Bengal for the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers is the obvious choice for the wildlife lovers. One can also hike to Jayanti Cave. The picnic day out to Rydak and Jayanti River apart from the tea garden visit will keep you engaged throughout the day. A day excursion to Coochbehar Royal Palace and Rasik Bill Bird Sanctuary can also be made from here.
