 Day
1 - Reception at NJP station / Bagdogra airport. Drive
to Mongpong forest
rest house (30 km). The drive takes you through Mahananda
Wild Life Sanctuary. You will cross the deep gorges of roaring
Teesta over the historical Coronation Bridge at Sevoke and
reach Mongpong. Here the landscape is completely different
with Teesta River liberating itself in the plains after a
200 odd km caged journey through steep rocks in Sikkim.
Situated on the lofty bank of Teesta, Mongpong Forest Rest
House offers a great panoramic view of the Mahananda
Wild Life Sanctuary and the wide spread Teesta
/ Tista. Overnight at Mongpong.
Day 2 - Drive uphill to Teesta Bazaar
(32 km). The rafting starts from here at Tarkhola. Enjoy rafting
in the white waters of Teesta throughout the day. In the evening
get down at Kalijhora, on the banks of River Teesta. Spend
the night in tents beside river Teesta. Enjoy campfire and
a moonlit dinner.
Day 3 - Move on to your next destination.
This rafting package is designed to work
as an add-on with other adventure tour programs of naturebeyond.
If on your tour you can spend two extra days, we would suggest
that you add rafting to your tour itinerary. A full rafting
package of longer duration can also be arranged on request
