The Eastern Himalaya offers some of the best and the greatest forests of India. The Dooars region is full of beautiful forests, thriving with wild life. The forest department encourages jungle tours without putting undue pressure on the ecology.

A large number of forest bungalows are now available for tourist accommodation. Jungle safaris on jeep/ elephant etc. are also available at many places.
