Day 1 - Reception for tourists
at Siliguri (NJP/Bagdogra).
Drive to Kalimpong (70Kms. 4300ft). The first phase of the journey
passes through the dense forest of Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary.
The Great Tista accompanies you as you take the winding uphill road
from Sevok. Check in at hotel. Free evening for marketing of local
traditional crafts in the downtown market. (ONH: Kalimpong).
Day 2 - Morning visit to flower nurseries of Kalimpong (this
small town is the leading flower producer of India). Visit to the
300 years old Bong monastery, picturesque Delo Top and Durpin Dara
top for panoramic view of the Himalayas. (ONH: Kalimpong).
Day 3 - Drive to Lava (32Kms, 7500ft) through the misty pine forests. Check in at forest
bungalow / hotel. Free evening to enjoy the beckoning landscape painted
with snow capped mountains and forests. (ONH: Lava)
Day 4 - Day starts with a short
trip to Rickisum view point for a magnificent sunrise over the snow
ranges. Situated at an altitude of nearly 8000ft with 360 degree
panorama, Rickisum perhaps offers the best sunrise view in the entire
North Bengal. Back to hotel for breakfast. Visit to Pedong, a small
scenic village just 18Kms from Lava and short trek to historical
Damsanguri Fort, Tinchule for breathtaking view of the Himalayas. In the afternoon visit to
Ratnarishi Gumpa in Lava. (ONH: Lava)
Day 5 - After Breakfast drive to Lolegaon (24Kms, 5400ft).
With a small Lepcha village-market, dense mossy forests, magnificent
view of Kanchenjunga and a fabulous rest house, Lolegaon is another
added attraction in Kalimpong hills. Transfer to the rest house.
Recommended: a leisure walk over the canopy foot bridge in the heritage

Day 6 - Early morning visit to Jhandidara for Sunrise. Situated
at the dense forest covered hilltop, Jhandidara offers a panoramic
view of the region and is one of the best places for Sunrise over
the snow ridges. Back to the hotel for refreshment.
After lunch drive back to Siliguri
through some of the beautiful tea gardens of Dooars (135Kms.) Tour
concludes at Siliguri. |
