A thoughtfully designed Eastern Himalaya experiential tour itinerary through Kalimpong, Gangtok and Darjeeling, featuring alpine lakes, monasteries, tea gardens, scenic drives and authentic mountain experiences.

  • Day 01 Arrival and scenic drive to Kalimpong with local market time

    On arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, you are welcomed and begin the drive to Kalimpong. The route passes through Mahananda Sanctuary and follows the Teesta River, offering forested stretches and river valley views. After arrival, check in at the hotel. The afternoon is free to explore the local market and observe everyday life in this hillside town. Overnight stay in Kalimpong.

    After breakfast, proceed for a detailed Kalimpong local tour. Visit Durpin Dara Hill for wide views of Kalimpong town, the Teesta and Reang rivers, and the Kanchenjunga range. Explore Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Monastery, known for its Buddhist manuscripts and murals. Continue past the Army Golf Course for an outside view. After lunch, visit Deolo Hill and Deolo View Point, followed by the Science Centre with interactive exhibits. The tour also includes Pine View Nursery, showcasing cactus and orchid collections and concludes at Mangal Dham Temple. Return to the hotel by evening. Overnight stay in Kalimpong.

  • Day 03 Drive to Gangtok via Teesta valley

    After breakfast, check out and drive to Gangtok through the scenic Teesta Valley. Enter Sikkim at Rongpo and continue the ascent via Ranipool. On arrival, check in at the hotel. The evening is free for self-arranged exploration of MG Marg and nearby areas to experience the city atmosphere. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

    After breakfast, begin a full day Gangtok city tour. Visit Banjhakri Falls, continue to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology to understand Tibetan history and culture, and visit Do Dul Chorten, an important Buddhist stupa. Explore the Government Institute of Cottage Industry to observe traditional Sikkimese handicrafts. Visit the Flower Exhibition Centre displaying seasonal blooms. If time permits, enjoy the ropeway ride offering panoramic views. After lunch, drive to Tashi View Point for Kanchenjunga views, stopping at Bakthang Waterfall en route. End the day at Ganesh Tok before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

  • Day 05 High altitude Tsongo Lake experience
    Day 5 Activity : Tsongo LakeBaba Mandir

    After breakfast, depart around 8.30 AM for Tsongo Lake situated at an altitude of around 12000 feet near the Indo-Tibet border. The sacred alpine lake is surrounded by stark mountain terrain and remains frozen during the winter months. Spend time experiencing the high altitude environment with optional Yak rides along the lakeside. Return to Gangtok by early afternoon for lunch. The remaining day is free for leisure or independent exploration of local markets. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

  • Day 06 Scenic Teesta route drive to Darjeeling

    After breakfast, check out and drive to Darjeeling following the scenic Teesta route. En route, stop at Lovers View Point on Peshok Road to enjoy elevated views of the confluence of the Teesta and Rangit rivers. Continue to Darjeeling, known for its tea gardens, colonial heritage, and mountain setting. On arrival, check in at the hotel. The afternoon is free to explore local markets or enjoy a relaxed walk around the Mall area. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

    Early morning drive to Tiger Hill to witness sunrise over the Kanchenjungha range, subject to weather conditions. On the return journey, visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the region. After breakfast, visit Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, followed by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute to learn about Himalayan wildlife and mountaineering history. Visit a tea garden to observe tea cultivation and processing depending on the season. Continue to Tenzing Rock and Gombu Roc,k and later visit the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda for a calm cultural experience. Return to the hotel by early afternoon. The rest of the day is free for leisure or personal exploration. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

  • Day 08 Mirik lake experience and border visit
    Day 8 Activity : Mirik Excursion

    After breakfast, proceed on a day excursion to Miri,k located at around 5900 feet. Mirik is known for its calm setting and Sumendu Lake, which remains full throughout the year, fed by rain and spring water. Spend time walking around the lake, enjoying the surroundings. Boating and horse riding are available for direct payment. En route, stop at the Indo-Nepal border at Simana. A visit to Pashupati Market is possible by separate vehicle at a nominal cost. Return to Darjeeling by late afternoon. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

  • Day 09 Departure to NJP or Bagdogra

    After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. The descent offers final views of tea gardens, forests, and mountain slopes. Arrival is scheduled as per departure plans, marking the completion of a well-paced Eastern Himalaya experiential tour itinerary.

Inclusions

Accommodation & Meals

  • Accommodation on a twin-sharing basis in the specified hotels or similar category.

  • For 2-star and 3-star packages: accommodation with daily breakfast.

  • For 4-star and 4-star premium packages: accommodation with daily breakfast and dinner.

  • Lunch and other meals are not included unless specifically mentioned.

  • For itineraries including Lachung and/or Lachen, all major meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included for that sector.

Extra Person / Child Policy

  • In case of an extra adult (for groups of 3 or 5 persons), accommodation will be provided in the same room with an extra mattress.

  • In the case of a child, the child will share the room with the parents/guardians. An extra mattress will be provided where applicable.

Transportation

  • For small groups (2–3 persons), all transfers and sightseeing will be arranged by a small car (sedan or hatchback).

  • For larger groups, a multi-utility vehicle (MUV), such as an Innova, Scorpio, Xylo, or similar, will be provided.

  • The vehicle's make and model are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.

Important Notes on Vehicle Usage

  • Vehicles in the Sikkim–Darjeeling region operate strictly on an itinerary basis, not on a disposal basis.

  • The vehicle will be available only for the specified transfers and sightseeing mentioned in the itinerary.

  • Due to local transport regulations, vehicles may be changed from day to day. The same vehicle may not remain with the guests for the entire tour.

Sightseeing & Activities

  • All sightseeing and tourist activities as mentioned in the itinerary are included.

  • The vehicle will drop off and pick up guests from the designated sightseeing points.

  • Entry fees, camera charges, and activity-specific tickets (if any) are not included and must be paid directly by the guests at the site.

  • If the itinerary includes the Darjeeling Toy Train Joy Ride, the ticket cost is included, and the tickets will be arranged and provided by us.

Additional Standard Inclusions

  • Services of an experienced local driver.

  • Fuel, driver allowance, parking charges, and toll taxes for all included vehicle services.

  • All applicable hotel taxes as per current norms.

Exclusions

  • Goods and Services Tax (GST) as applicable under the Government of India regulations at the time of invoicing.

  • Any transport services beyond those specified in the confirmed itinerary, including additional sightseeing, detours, waiting time, or extended vehicle usage. Such services are subject to availability and must be paid for directly by the guests at prevailing local rates.

  • All personal expenses, including but not limited to laundry, telephone calls, bottled water, beverages, snacks, additional meals, room service, porterage, gratuities, tips, and incidental expenses.

  • Room heater charges, where applicable, are not included and must be settled directly with the hotel.

  • Any food, meals, or beverages not explicitly mentioned under the Package Includes section, whether consumed at the hotel or elsewhere.

  • Cost of any services, facilities, or amenities not expressly mentioned under the Package Includes section.

  • Charges for optional, suggested, or add-on tours and activities, unless specifically confirmed in writing as included in the package.

  • Guide services are not included by default. If required, guide services must be requested in advance, are subject to availability, and will be charged additionally.

  • Entrance fees, camera fees, ropeway/cable car charges, adventure or leisure activity tickets, and any similar charges at sightseeing locations.

  • Airfare, train fare, and other long-distance transportation costs for arrival at or departure from NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport, unless specifically included.

  • Any costs arising due to force majeure events, including but not limited to natural calamities, landslides, road closures, adverse weather conditions, political disturbances, strikes, changes in government regulations, or any circumstances beyond the control of the tour operator.

  • Any increase in costs due to changes in fuel prices, taxes, permit fees, entry charges, or government levies after booking confirmation shall be borne by the guests.

Cancellation Policy

  • All cancellations must be communicated in writing (via email or authorised messaging platform) and will be effective only from the date and time of receipt by the tour operator.

  • Cancellation charges shall be calculated on the total package cost, irrespective of the amount paid at the time of cancellation.

Cancellation Charges

  • More than 21 days before the date of commencement of the tour:
    There would be a processing fee of 2000 levied.

  • Between 15 and 21 days before the date of commencement of the tour: Cancellation charge of 50% of the total package cost.

  • Between 10 and 14 days before the date of commencement of the tour:
    Cancellation charge of 75% of the total package cost.

  • Within 10 days or less before the date of commencement of the tour, or in case of no-show:
    100% cancellation charge. No refund shall be payable.

Important Notes

  • Any non-refundable or non-amendable components (including but not limited to hotel bookings, permits, special vehicle arrangements, or train/toy train tickets) shall be charged in full, irrespective of the time of cancellation.

  • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within a reasonable time period after deduction of cancellation charges and any bank or payment gateway fees.

  • In case of early departure, unused services, or voluntary curtailment of the tour, no refund shall be admissible.

  • The tour operator reserves the right to amend or update this cancellation policy in accordance with supplier terms and prevailing regulations.

Child Policy

Child Policy

Children below 5 years of age (Infants / Toddlers)

  • Complimentary stay without an extra bed.

  • Meals, if any, shall be payable directly as per hotel policy.

  • No separate seat will be provided in the vehicle for sightseeing or transfers.

Children between 5 and 10 years of age

  • Accommodated without an extra bed, sharing the room with parents/guardians.

  • The meal plan shall be the same as that of the accompanying parents/guardians.

  • One seat in the vehicle will be provided for the child for all transfers and sightseeing.

Children above 10 years of age

  • Considered as an extra adult for accommodation, meals, and vehicle seating.

  • Accommodated with an extra bed or mattress, sharing the room with parents/guardians.

Important Notes

  • The age of the child shall be calculated as on the date of commencement of the tour.

  • Maximum room occupancy is subject to hotel policies and applicable local regulations.

  • Extra beds are generally provided in the form of a mattress on the floor, subject to hotel standards and availability.

  • Hotels may request proof of age of the child at the time of check-in. In such cases, it is the responsibility of the accompanying parent/guardian to provide valid documentation.

  • In the event of any age-related discrepancy resulting in reclassification of the child by the hotel, any additional charges arising thereof shall be borne directly by the guest and settled on the spot with the hotel.

Other Policy

Tariff Conditions

  • All tariffs are valid for Indian nationals only. Foreign nationals are required to obtain a separate quotation from our team.

  • All accommodation is provided on a twin-sharing basis, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the booking confirmation.

General Rules & Conditions

  • Most hotels in hilly regions do not have elevators (lifts). Guests should be prepared to use stairs.

  • The hotel names mentioned in the itinerary are indicative only and are not guaranteed at the time of booking. Final hotel confirmation is subject to availability. In case the mentioned hotel is unavailable, a similar or equivalent alternative will be offered.

  • In the event of bad weather, poor road conditions, landslides, local or political disturbances, security concerns, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the operations team reserves the right to modify or reschedule the itinerary. While every effort will be made to consult the guests, the decision of the operations team shall be final and binding.

  • Guests travelling with elderly persons, children, or persons with medical conditions or disabilities are advised to consult a medical professional before booking. Any special assistance requirements must be communicated in writing before tour confirmation.

  • Any dispute arising out of the tour or booking shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Siliguri Judicial Magistrate Court, irrespective of any other competent court.

Vehicle Restrictions within Gangtok Town

  • Vehicular movement within Gangtok city is restricted between 08:00 hrs and 19:00 hrs.

  • During restricted hours, guests are required to use local taxis (readily available within the city) to commute between the hotel and designated vehicle stands.

  • Different stands are designated for different destinations. Our operations team will coordinate remotely, but no on-ground staff will be present, as our vehicles are permitted only up to the designated stand.

  • Commuting between the hotel and the vehicle stand during restricted hours shall be the responsibility of the guests.

Rules for Tsomgo Lake & New Baba Mandir

  • Permits for Tsomgo Lake and New Baba Mandir are issued on the same day, usually between 08:00 hrs and 09:00 hrs.

  • Due to heavy tourist demand, permit issuance may be delayed. Guests may be required to leave the hotel early and wait at the Tsomgo vehicle stand until permits are received.

  • Guests should be mentally prepared for the waiting time at the stand.

  • On return, guests will be dropped at the Tsomgo stand, from where local taxi arrangements must be made directly by the guests.

  • If permits are denied due to weather conditions or military restrictions, alternate sightseeing will be arranged.

  • If the journey towards Tsomgo Lake commences but is interrupted midway due to unforeseen circumstances, sightseeing of Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, and Tashi View Point will be provided instead.

  • No refund shall be admissible in either case, irrespective of the reason for itinerary change.

Nathula Pass Disclaimer

  • A visit to Nathula Pass is not guaranteed even when booked well in advance.

  • Nathula Pass lies on the Indo–China border, and access is regulated by the Indian Army.

  • Permits are issued in limited numbers, on specific days, and often at short notice. Guests may not receive permits even if booked well in advance.

  • Even after permit issuance, visits may be cancelled at the last moment due to security or weather or any other explicit or implicit reasons, with no refund applicable.

  • Nathula Pass is not included by default in our tour packages.

  • Guests wishing to attempt a Nathula visit must inform our helpdesk well in advance. Necessary documents and applicable fees will be collected on arrival in Gangtok.

  • We do not guarantee a Nathula visit and shall not be held responsible for any denial or cancellation.

Closure Information

  • In Darjeeling, HMI (Himalayan Mountaineering Institute) and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park remain closed on Thursdays and National Holidays.

  • Gangtok city sightseeing is not recommended on Sundays and National Holidays, as many attractions remain closed.

  • If a sightseeing point is closed on a particular day, no refund, adjustment, or repeat visit on an alternate day shall be provided.

Transportation-Related Rules

  • In hilly terrain, vehicle air-conditioning may not be operational due to altitude, air pressure, and engine load on uphill drives.

  • Vehicles are provided on an itinerary basis, not on a disposal basis. Vehicles are exclusively for the booked group, but only for the specified routes and timings.

  • Additional vehicle usage or deviations are subject to availability and will attract additional charges payable on the spot.

  • Due to local transport regulations, the vehicle may change from day to day. Continuity of the same vehicle is not guaranteed.

  • As most hill hotels have limited parking facilities, guests are requested to be ready at the reception at least 5 minutes before departure time.

Rules for Zero Point & Chopta Valley

  • Permissions for Zero Point and Chopta Valley are obtained locally and are subject to weather, terrain, and security conditions.

  • These locations may be closed without prior notice.

  • Visits to these areas are not part of the standard itinerary and are considered optional excursions.

  • Guests opting for these visits must pay additional charges directly to the driver, as advised by the helpdesk before tour commencement.
